Caitlin Brey

One of the coolest things about our Village is how different everyone is and this month's member is no exception - did you know she is a nurse anesthetist?! While she's called a few different places "home," she's been in Louisville for a decade now and loves Jack Fry's. You might run into her at a TJ Maxx, that is when she's not at one of our classes (and boy does she love a Bowman sunrise). Meet Caitlin Brey, our January Member of the Month!

Hometown: Atlanta, GA.

How long have you lived in Louisville? About 10 years.

Tell us about your family: My husband, Alex, is from Louisville. We met in college at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and have two daughters, Catherine (7), Charlotte (5) and a black lab puppy, Rocky.

Current/Previous career: Nurse Anesthetist at Norton Children’s- I put kids to sleep for a living (and wake them up!).

What did you want to be “when you grow up”? A Marine biologist, didn’t we all??!

What is the furthest you have been away from home? We lived in Denver, Colorado while I was in anesthesia school. Travel wise- Europe or Hawaii

What is your favorite thing to do? Travel, drink warm coffee, be with family & friends.

What is something about you that someone may not know? I was an extra in the movie “Remember The Titans,” Denzel Washington really is that handsome.

What is your favorite local restaurant to eat at? What is your go to order? Jack Frys- for a special occasion its the filet & a martini 🤣!

What is the best thing about living in Louisville? You can get anywhere in about 20 minutes.

What is your favorite color? Green.

What is your favorite song or artist? Anything we can dance to- there’s a lot of T Swift being played at home lately.

What TV shows are you currently watching? “Only Murders In The Building."

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or what is your pet peeve? Clutter is my kryptonite, yet I love a good TJ Maxx/Homegoods haul.

If someone had to describe you in one word, what would it be and why? Hopefully friendly!

How did you find FIT4MOM Louisville? Years ago when my oldest was about 2 months old I did a Stroller Strides work out at the zoo, since then I’ve tried it all- Fit4Baby, Holiday Body Well Minis, regular Body Well, etc!

How has FIT4MOM Louisville changed your life? Offering morning classes I can get done before heading into work- I needed the accountability… and you can’t beat the sunrises at Bowman Field in the summer!

What was the first class that you attended? What was the last class that you attended? Stroller Strides in 2016 & Holiday Mini at KIP last week.

What is your favorite workout move or class layout? What workout move or class layout makes you feel strong? I like variety, the way Natalie gets us moving our entire bodies, Carlee has us running miles without noticing & Bonnie incorporates the chair into Pilates.

January questions:

  • Stay up til midnight or be fast asleep? Try as I might- I’m usually fast asleep.

  • Do you believe in resolutions and if so, what’s yours? Sure, but they don’t have to be drastic! For 2024 I hope to be more mindful and present with family & friends.

  • Party horns or party hats to celebrate? Hats!

  • What are you looking forward to in 2024? Traveling to new places and hopefully getting our new puppy to stop chewing everything, ha!
