Hometown: Newburgh Indiana!
How long have you lived in Louisville? Since grad school in 2009.
Tell us about your family: My son Theo is 7.5 and my daughter Vivian just turned 5. My husband Kit and I were married in June 2014, so have our 10 year anniversary this month!
Current/Previous career: I am currently the Clinical Director at Maryhurst. I started at Maryhurst in 2012. I took a 9 month try at something else in 2021, and decided I needed to go back “home.” It’s a very hard job, but honestly I cannot see myself doing anything else.
What did you want to be “when you grow up”? I think I wanted to work for USPS!
What is the furthest you have been away from home? I have been to Africa twice and Europe once.
What is your favorite thing to do? I love spending time with family. We love to have campfires in our backyard or go to the lake. Lately my son is perfecting his bike ride, so we’ve been out practicing a lot. No training wheels!
What is something about you that someone may not know? I was born in Omaha and have legitimately not been back once. Ha!
What is your favorite local restaurant to eat at? What is your go to order? I LOVE Gustavo’s on a Saturday night. A chicken chimichanga with a margarita on the rocks can solve just nearly anything.
What is the best thing about living in Louisville? My husband is from here so we love having his family close. I love Louisville and it feels like home. We have created a strong support system here, so that’s probably the best thing!
What is your favorite color? Light blue.
What is your favorite song or artist? I’m a music person, so I have diverse taste. Of course I’m a Swiftie, but I also really love Turnpike Troubadours and get to see them live…TONIGHT!
What TV shows are you currently watching? I mostly just watch Dateline and 2020 and sometimes some Law and Order SVU sprinkled in.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us or what is your pet peeve? I am a mix of go with the flow and then also type A. I do struggle when plans don’t work out, but I’m working on that!
If someone had to describe you in one word, what would it be and why? Oh gosh. This is hard! Maybe open? I feel like I’m pretty open and try to make people comfortable.
How did you find FIT4MOM Louisville? A good friend!
How has FIT4MOM Louisville changed your life? I love the accessibility and the way it encourages me to to be healthy.
What was the first class that you attended? What was the last class that you attended? My daughter turned 5 this week and my first class was on my maternity leave with her. It was in Anchorage trail and we went to breakfast right after and I knew not a single person! But it was great! And the instructor was Stephanie and she was just my daughter’s amazing preschool teacher this year and is now the most popular person in my house. HA! Last class, I’m not sure. We just got back from Disney and I need to schedule my upcoming classes.
What is your favorite workout move or class layout? What workout move or class layout makes you feel strong? I love BOOST. For years and years my kids loved strides and we still talk about our T/Th nights at Strides. I miss it! But for our lives now, I tend to stick with virtual or the occasional in-person class at Owl Creek.
June questions:
Tastiest summer treat? Just got back from Disney so that answer is obviously the Dole Whip!
Pool or beach? Why? We are beach people. My kids could be on the beach all day and never complain. And me too!
What was your favorite summer memory from childhood? Mostly having the world’s most amazing grandparents. They are the pinnacle of my childhood memories.
What are you looking forward to doing this summer? We just surprised the kids and took them to Disney on the last day of school, so I doubt we will get to another family vacation this summer. But we have lots of lake weekends and concerts coming up that will be fabulous!
