Mom of the Month - Stephanie McCrocklin

Meet Stephanie, one of our Moms of the Month! Stephanie is wifey to Grant and mama to Violet (5), Max (3) and furbaby Finn. Stephanie is a stay at home mama and one of our amazing instructors. You can find her teaching Strides or 360 and coaching Run Club! When she’s not instructing she is a regular at classes and has also done several rounds of Body Well. Stephanie is the woman you go to, to make your smile brighter. She is as genuine as they come and a dedicated mother to Violet and Max. She’s been known to carry around a portable kiddie potty and can kick your ass in the sweetest voice.

Stephanie, thank you for being a part of team Fit4Mom Lou and our Village. We love you mama!

Hometown: Louisville KY

Tell us about your family. Wife to Grant, Mom to Violet (5), Max (3) and puppy Finn

Current/Previous career. Preschool Enrichment Teacher turned SAHM/Fit4Mom Instructor

What was your childhood ambition? I always wanted to be a teacher. I remember setting up my easel and making my little brother pretend he was in school.

What does motherhood mean to you? Man, motherhood is everything. Some days are joyful while others are downright hard. It’s loving these littles so much it hurts then the next minute feeling ready to ship them off to the grandparents. Then, knowing two hours after they are gone you will want them back home. It’s full of proud moments with just as many embarrassing ones. Sometimes all it takes is a little hand reaching for yours to remind you that these are, without a doubt, the best years of your life.

What is the furthest you have been away from home? California. I would love to travel to Hawaii or Canada. Or even Alaska.

How did you find FIT4MOM? My good friend Katie Kramer invited me to the 3rd Birthday Strides celebration. I fell in love after station one.

How has FIT4MOM changed your life? I’ve been able to meet some of the most amazing mamas ever. Even better, my children have seen strength in me and see fitness as a part of an everyday healthy lifestyle. It’s also encouraged our family to stay active with fun events. It’s adorable to see your kids grab their strollers and facilitate their own stroller class or stop during a walk through the neighborhood to do push-ups or plan their own play dates and pretend to host them. Fitness isn’t everything, it’s really not even the most of it. It’s the love and support this Village offers that is truly a blessing. I wouldn’t be the mom I am without F4MLou.

Favorite exercise. Love me some cardio!

Proudest moment. Wow this is hard. I have lots of little moments everyday in parenthood but my most proud moment of myself would be finishing the Derby Marathon in 2008, 5 months after my mom passed away suddenly. I was NOT a runner, never even ran 2 miles straight but I trained and signed up for the half but ended up completing the full marathon. I dedicated that accomplishment to my mom. I ran with a picture of her in my arm band. During the second half when I was wearing down I had talks with her, I’d shed tears and keep going. So many emotions during those 26.2 miles. She is what got me to the finish line. If I could get through losing her I could do anything and well, I DID!

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us. Well... I’ll prob regret admitting this but in college I worked at a certain restaurant where the uniform included a pair of orange shorts.

Favorite virtual class. 360 all day long. Those out and back runs made the “virtual” world feel a little more normal. I never attend one as a client (because I taught most of them) but Amanda Atherton did that format during a ONE class and I loved it!!!

Quick 5 with Max and Violet.

How old is mommy? Max- "4" Violet - "20"

What is something mom always says to you? "I love you, clean up your toys."

What is mom really good at? Violet - "Spelling" (I’m glad she thinks so)

What is mom's favorite thing to do? "Watch movies."

What makes you proud of your mom? "She takes care of us when we get boo-boos."
