Mom of the Month-- December

Meet Terri Tinnell! Our December Mom of the Month!

Terri is wifey to Chad and Mommy to the most cuddly and smiley little girl named Raegan. If you’ve ever met Terri, you have undoubtedly noticed her kind heart and warm smile. This girl wants nothing but the best for everyone around her and it shows. However, she may be sweet and smiley BUT if you’ve seen her in a Body Back session you know she puts in WERK. This girl turns from sweet and smiley Terri to GAME FACE/I’M A SHARK Terri... AND WE LOVE IT! This Mama lost 21 pounds in her 1st session of Body Back and is looking so STRONG! We love having your presence not only in Body Back, but at Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre. We are so grateful to have you in this Village, Mama!

1. What is your fave thing about Stroller Strides?

Hands down, my favorite thing about stroller strides are the connections I’m able to make with other moms traveling the same journey with similar trials and triumphs. I also like that Raegan sees me working hard for something and learns that being healthy leads to a happier life!

2. What is your favorite exercise at Stroller Strides?

I really enjoy the big laugh Raegan gives when we do peek-a-boo squats. Her face lights up when I spin around, which lights up my heart!

3. What is your favorite part about being a mom?

My favorite part of first becoming a mom was the sense of pride and immense love I felt for a tiny human that I had just met. As she grows, my love for her as grown and our bond keeps getting stronger. I love how excited she gets when I come home from work and how she reaches for me first when she need some comfort! It really makes my heart smile.

4. Favorite thing to do when Raegan is napping?

I would like to say that I nap right along with her, but that has proven not to be possible! So, I usually try to get as many chores done as I can or catch up on what I call my “smut” TV. Lately, however, her naps are getting shorter and shorter, therefore the TV watching is minimal and the chores just keep building!

5. What is your favorite thing to do as a family?

We love to be outside. So, if the weather permits, we will go to the park or sit on our patio while Raegan plays with her outside toys. If weather does not allow us outside, we will try to find a place to go or an indoor activity we can go do that allows us to get out of the house!

6. What is something about you that someone may not know?

This is something that I wouldn’t say anyone would ever guess, but as a teenager I raced Motocross Dirt Bikes and also played competitive golf. Two things that don’t seem like they mix at all! My dirt bike days ended and my golf career came to a screeching halt when I wrecked my Honda 650 trying to make too high of a jump and tore myself up pretty bad. If you ever look at my left shoulder and forearm you’ll notice some scars from the surgery that repaired my broken “floating elbow” with a titanium rod inserted next to my humerus (upper arm) and a steel plate on my radius (forearm). A pretty terrible experience as teenager that has lead to some pretty interesting conversation starters as an adult!

7. What is your favorite healthy and unhealthy food?

My favorite healthy food is definitely a banana! Since starting body back I’ve been eating quite a few of them and sometimes I like to add just a little bit of almond butter for a snack. For unhealthy food I really love anything sweet; especially anything with milk chocolate or pies. BUT, I can honestly say that I haven’t had any of that stuff for awhile and I’m feeling better and have more energy when I eat healthier sweets like fruit!

8. What is your favorite color?

While I rarely wear it I love the aqua marine color of blue. It makes me feel so peaceful and happy!

9. What is your favorite song or artist?

My tastes in music vary day to day; I’m really all over the board. If I had to pick just one song I would say Pharrell’s Happy song, just because it really does make you feel happy!

10. What TV shows are you currently watching?

So, I know I mentioned my “smut” TV, that includes whatever series of Real Housewives is on at the moment (I don’t DVR this one!), Keeping up with the Kardashian (I have a love/hate relationship with this one), Nashville (given it’s still getting renewed) and a silly little show I’ve watched since it started, Jane the Virgin. Other than those, our TV mostly stays on ESPN, Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Club!
